... Well, not really. We still have a few more years to go, and by "a few" I mean about 60. But the second phase of the project, which involved scanning an additional 10 years of content, moving all the content into the Internet Archive, and rebuilding our search interface, did indeed wrap up today. And today, not coincidentally, is the 155th anniversary of the newspaper that is the direct descendant of the old British/Daily Colonist, that being the Times Colonist.
So it was great that Dave Obee gave the project a highly positive write-up in the T-C today. Not all our projects are quite that high profile, and I was honoured to be a part of it.
Lots of folks were involved in one way or another, but I would be remiss if I didn't give a big shout out to our web developer Ben Sheaff, who did all the work on the search interface; by far the most technically demanding aspect of the project. The folks at Internet Archive Canada were also stellar, and the Legislative Library were more than generous with an extended loan of their microfilm.
